vibration while braking

Back in August i got tired of a vibration i was having in my 2009 gmc sierra 4x4 while braking.

it took it to the local MAVIS brake and tire store, they replaced the rear shoes.

it still had the vibration, i took it back they warranteed the shoes, and replaced shoes and drums.

took it back again, he put a hardware kit on it,... still vibrating... took it back again and replaced shoes and rotors....still the same.

i ONLY notice this issue when i brake. mainly at highway speeds. the vibration is felt on the brake pedal and the seat. nothing in the steering wheel. there is no vibration when driving without braking.

tires are old and havent been balanced in years.

i did replace a front wheel assembly about 6 months ago.

front rotors and pads were replaced 16 months ago.

truck has 46,000 miles on it.

any ideas????

Front rotors are warped. If only while braking i'd put money on that.

Also might want to post in the right location.

Steering wheel shake or more of a front to back vibration? My dad has the same thing in his 09 with rear drums. Usually means they aren't adjusted properly

My 07 classic 1500 had a shake when braking at high speed and low speed. I seemed to feel it in the seat nothing in the steering wheel It would cause the bed and topper to shake slightly. Ive never had trouble with any drum brakes ever but i read that these drums can be touchy. I had the rear drums surfaced and it was the same still shaking. I read that if you apply the parking brake slightly at 25-40 mph it will shake if its the rear drums. (Isolates the drums) still shaking after surfacing with the parking brake applied.

I ordered the powerstop Z23 drilled and slotted rotors with pads kit ($205) knowing that my front brakes were thin anyway. My front pads were cracked and the rotors were gouged.

Shake completely went away with new pads and rotors. It still has some "beam shake" on uneven pavement but the truck stops great no complaints.
