BronzeSierra Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Where do LED lightbars fall as far as power feed? Are they considered the same as fog lights and can only be enabled during low beam? High beam operation makes more sense. I had the dealer upgrades to the HID headlights done on my '15 Sierra. Looking to fill the lighting for better night vision. Not sure how 'off-road' lighting applies, since a behind the grille wouldn't use a cover for daylight.
ErickW Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Honestly I don't know why you couldn't set them up to run however you want. Here in Indiana I see guys running them in all applications, always on, on with fogs, on with brights etc..
blwright Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I had the dealer upgrades to the HID headlights done on my '15 Sierra. Splain. Did the dealer just do the install after you purchased an aftermarket kit?
BronzeSierra Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 I was referring to the GMC warranty upgrade to existing HID bulbs and increased voltage. It's improved but still not to my liking and needs a better fill of light
Clocked92 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Pretty sure light bars need to be wired separately and cannot just plug into the factory fog light wiring since their draw is too high.
BronzeSierra Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 It would be wired separately(relay, etc.), but my question is whether they can be operated regardless of low/high beam. I'll have to check state inspection laws.
