Oil colour recovered in catch can

So, i installed an Elite Eng catch can and ran for approx 2000km. I checked the catch can reservoir and had 3-4oz of "liquid" in there.

The liquid that i pulled out was the colour of "mocha or coffee with 2 creams" similar to what diff oil looks like when water gets in it. And it felt very watery with a slight hint of "oil slime" to it.

Is that what i should expect to see in the can? the other pictures in topics on this site that i have seen show a dark oil type liquid in them.

What amounts of liquid are you users of the system recovering?

Thanks in advance

In colder temps it will be that mocha color. Because the oil is mixed with condensation.

In warmer temps it will be darker and look more oil like.

Yep, completely normal.

Be sure to check/drain more often in the winter, as the condensation aka water causes the can to fill much faster than if it were just oil alone.

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep an eye on it. It does get cold up here, the condensate does make sense.

Toeson- colour is the canadian word for color, lol.
