Not sure if it has been mentioned or not, but JBA now has shorty headers available for the new 4.3. Spoke with the sales team, and I risky they told me they were still in R&D bit double checked and was surprised to see they are currently available. Got two part numbers 1842-s10 for stainless steel and 1842s-10js for ceramic coated ones

I asked for horsepower gains, and the rep stated they saw 10 rwhp and 14 rwtq. Also these do not require a tune.

I'm surprised nobody has modified a new 4.3 into a modern Typhoon/Cyclone take. Regular cab short box, WT, nice and light. Slap a turbo on it.

I'd love to slap a turbo on mine, I've been looking into it, and more than likely would have to fab up my own turbo manifold to do it.

I have been looking every where fore these headers. I actually would love to put a turbo or two on my 4.3 V6 just to see what she could do. I have heard that a cold air intake would give an extra 15 - 25 h/p at the r/w. I am not a Master Tech. and don't claim to be. However, anyone knows that if you put more air in it has to be able to flow out as fast if not faster than it came in. Too much back pressure will kill any kind of gain.

Right now my truck is a work in progress and what I call a clean slate. It is a WT Model is basically bare bones with the exception of power windows, door locks, and upgraded suspension, with tow package for hauling. If you guys find anymore performance upgrades that are worth looking at let me know.

Id try swapping manifold driver to passenger for a front exit first. Have to plumb a merge and find a place for the turbo. Not sure how much room your working with in front of the 4.3. I know flipping the truck manifolds were a popular cheap way to go in the past.

I've thought about that to. Right now turning my truck is a future dream of mine, probably not till my warranty is up.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Nothing with the 4.3 has changed from 14 to 16 as far as I know.

Headers especially shortys and bolt ons are going to do nothing on the 4.3 except remove weight and change sound. There is an engine segment on YouTube where they test the new 5.3 on the engine stand in stock form then with a slew of mods including long tube headers and it did not care at all.The only thing that woke the thing up at all was a giant shot of nitrous.Despite what marketing leads us to believe about headers they do nothing for most modern engines until you change the camshaft. The best thing you can do for a 4.3 is to run E85 and get a transmission tune IMO

Not ENTIRELY accurate information there. Headers do make more power and torque over their OEM cast manifolds. Period. Do they gain enough to make it worthwhile for YOU? That's in the eye of the beholder. I've been a Richard Holdener fan for a long time, as well as Steve Brule, Freiburger, Dulcich (the whole gang). I've read several of David Vizards books too. In addition to having real first-hand experience with many aspects of exhaust tuning. You can't argue with the principles behind scavenging and velocity and how they impact volumetric efficiency.

Now with that said, the above JBA's are shorties and don't look much of an improvement over long tubes. I, too, would go with E85 and tune over these.
