Bulb Socket Gasket/Seal

2001 Silverado Z71

Been having problems for the last few years with water/moisture getting in to the bulb lens. It's the turn signal/side maker lens.

I have run a good bead of silicon where the front and back join. Still have the same problem.

I assume it can only be the socket gaskets now.

Anyone know where I can purchase the different size gaskets?

I've spent a good bit of time trying to find this info.

I've come to the conclusion one would have to buy the entire bulb sockets just to get the gaskets.

Anyone know any different?

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking the little colored boot where the wire goes in on the socket? If you take the terminals out of the socket you can replace the weather boot. A local GM dealer should have something that would work in their terminal tray collection. If not, grab some sockets. IMO might be easier to go the new socket route as you'd have to cut the old wire or terminal end off to change the boot out.

The black gasket that compresses in the hole when you click it in the lens housing.

Oh LOL sorry for assuming. That gasket I think is with a connector only. I've never seen one in a GM terminal service tray as a replacement piece.

Try the hardware store plumbing dept. They should have a selection of rubber washers that might fit.
