SMiller Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 So after leveling w/keys the uca's hit the stops. will Cognito uca's alone, for example, be all that is needed to clear the stops? Will need shock spacers if you don't already have them and yes will need upper control arms, I would suggest spending $70 and adding front diff. spacers to help get your angles back to somewhat normal as well. Being super cranked is a good way to pop a ball joint and that is a stress you do not want as it will send the front wheel through the fender and cause a loss of control. Everyone these days is recommending going with aftermarket Spicer ball joints for the Cognito upper control arms as they are the highest quality units on the market at this time and the Cognito units are known for sucking.

The keys did come with shock spacers so I'm good there. I was looking at the Cognito ucas and was wondering if they include everything to do the install or if I should order other parts in addition.
HELIRN74 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Where can I get differential spacers alone? Have a link? I have looked with little success. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Doug64 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Here's what I've found so far. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Differential-Drop-Kit-For-2-4-Lift-GMC-Chevy-HD-2500-3500-2011-4WD-Only-/291544652807?hash=item43e16a5c07:g:Q9UAAOSwL7VWmEVk&vxp=mtr

SMiller Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Wait a minute, you called them on a Sunday, and they answered? I called a few months ago, lol. I don't know anything about the eBay kit and don't like taking chances, the Maxx spacers have been used by many so I know they fit and work. There is less then a inch of room to drop the diff and it requires longer bolts, it would not be fun to trial and error the project.
royg6677 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Here is a you tube video of the Maxx Cam kit. The kit on ebay appears to be about the same but also has the UCA option. I think these kits show signs that factory ride quality and front end movement my be retained. Just my opinion.
Doug64 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Anybody know what Maxx would charge for their spacers by themselves? Anybody know what Maxx would charge for their spacers by themselves?

Aftermarket keys don't help unless you cannot get the height needed out of the stock ones. Shock extenders and diff drop spacers sure help though, really need upper control arms to avoid hitting the frame stops on big bumps as they add 22% down travel.
royg6677 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Doug64 It looks like the spacers and bolts are the same as at Maxx Cam and ebay ebays are $20.00
Doug64 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I just got off the phone with Suspension Maxx, I ordered the diff spacer kit for $75. I spoke with Larry who apparently is the owner or something, he was very helpful. I've even received a tracking number and delivery date for the kit. I would highly recommend their leveling kits for anyone who can afford their products. I bought my keys through a local shop that did the install and alignment, they bought from Fabtech.
