Running board LEDs

To all you guys that run LED lights under truck to illuminate your running boards, what and where did you guys ground them to? I know for the power you tapped into the dome light wire under driver side dash. Just wondering where the ground connection was made. Thanks.

Any place on the frame would do I think, clean frame for good contact. If it was me I would use stainless steel bolt and cover connection with liquid tape.

Yeah, I figured that much. I was just hoping they knew of a readily available spot.

Use one of the bolts holding on the 'wire box' under the driver's side dash. They are grounded.

i used a self-tapping panhead screw and scuffed the paint and drilled to the chasis with a ring terminal, behind the kick panel since i already had it removed

So to tack on to this thread.....which grommet did y'all use to route power from the drivers side panel to the exterior? What's the easiest way out? Do we have to use the big nipple up high in the firewall? Thanks!

I am about to install some amps and will put a small hole in the parking brake cable grommet for the new wires going underneath. Then I will caulk the hole closed.
