GMC-AT Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Do you notice if your rear defrost turns on automatically in the morning? I have noticed this after the truck sits overnight. Its been warm here, so I don't think it has to do temp. Also, I'm referring to a normal key start. Please advise .... Is this by design?
SierraMyst Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Well. There a rear defrost auto start option in the vehicle settings, but this is only suppose to turn on when it's cold, 32 degrees or below cold. Some folks have mention that the auto start will start the defrost even if there is frost on the window. May not be fressing, but it just senses frost. Is the option checked in your vehicle settings?
GMC-AT Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 Yes...but the temp hasn't been below 65 here since I got the truck Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
GMC-AT Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 It seems if the option is turned on...the defrost will come on regardless of temp...if the truck sits all night Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
redwngr Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I thought the 'auto' setting for rear window defog only referred to when started by remote, but it makes sense for it to work after keystart on cold days. Now you have my curiosity up.

Curious if there is a sensor for condensation or moisture instead of just a blanket temperature to turn the system on?
15 Z71 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I think just temp. I used my remote start when it was 29 out and my rear defrost was on when I got in. And the windows were clear.
