Ethernet - security camera issue

That's what I posted.

You were suggesting the OP download utilities for a smartphone and manually seek out the camera. That's not necessary.

Step one is to verify, via the LEDs on the camera, that it is powered up and operating correctly. Step two would be to log in to the router, check the DHCP address table, and find the MAC of the camera (which should be on a label on the camera) and determine the IP Address that it was assigned. If this can't be determined, then there's either an issue with the camera or the router is not handing out addresses like it should.

There is absolutely no need to download any third-party utilities to scan the network to find the camera. The discovery tool that's needed for that camera is included and gets installed on the Windows machine. It is likely pre-configured with a tool to search partially by MAC address because the hardware is from a "known" vendor.

Yes the LEDs light up. I didn't have a chance to look at it again today

Same thing. Like I've posted. I've done plenty. It's simple. Foscam's tool is probably the same as whatever tool you're referencing that may or may not be working. Do you know what Fing is? It's a pretty good tool. I'm trying to help the OP in the most simplistic way.

Ryan, you need to have it connected to your network, not a PC. The IP Camtool will find it on the network. you're going to run it through the network anyway

If you get really stuck, PM me and we can do a web conference - you can share your screen and we can look at the various pieces of information together.
