weird residue on front bumper

Anyone notice a weird black mastic like residue on the chrome of front bumper seam where it meets the air-dam? Also a slight difference in the gap between the top of bumper and plastic trim from left to right side?

I got the different gap, takes an eagle eye to notice though! Not sure on your residue though

I have had some weird black goo on the rear chrome bumper since the day I got it. (3 months now?) I thought I got most of it off. But, damned if there still isn't a little bit and I haven't had time to really get down and try to get it off again (strange work schedule and non-california weather lately). No clue what it is, it came with the truck. I thought it was some kind of road tar or some other tar at first. It is not however. Not sure what it is. Sticks to the bumper real good though.
