Has anyone used an aftermarket antennae?

I'm always worried that my truck's antennae will get torn off in the car wash. Has anyone used an aftermarket antennae? If so, how's the reception? Is it less prone to being broken/torn off? Link to you what are using? Thanks in advance!

I have the stubby from Craven Speed. No difference in reception for me on the FM stations I listen to. It's only 3" or so.

The car wash uses a foam "brush" that really doesn't seem to hurt anything. I get unlimited free washes at 3 dealerships.

While washing the truck is a pain, being mine is black I try not to hit the car wash. The "brushless" ones in my area seem to still leave little scratches.

I have yet to get a better antennae over stock in any of my last 6 trucks. I searched for powered internal. Powered externally and the same is you don't get hardly any reception and unless the station is really you can really forget about it. This was with some 15 different antennas as when I would have to have fiberglass I would have to get rid of antennae and well it never worked even close to factory. The small stubbie ones are good looking but aren't up to a reception task at all.

I got one of the stubby ones and I have good reception on most stations, but also lost one of my favorite stations. So I guess Ill be putting my stock one back on.

If you find a good one let me know. I listen to iPod or satellite mostly anyways but would be good I could actually find a good stubby. Especially in San Diego
