medic717 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Finally got around to installing my volant CAI on my 5.3 Sierra today. Easy install probably about 45 mins start to finish. Seems to have a little better throttle response afterwards and added a nice little growl on takeoff. Otherwise quite while driving. Nice little addition for no more than it cost.
CNC237 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Very nice! Can't decide between this and an S&B...
medic717 Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 Very nice! Can't decide between this and an S&B... I understand there was a lot of options but I found a thread on here where they put them all to the dyno and volant was the best combination of power and torque number improvements. Also they put up the same numbers with the stock box and the airaid MIT with an aftermarket filter in place... I just found a great deal from auto anything and pulled the trigger on the volant.
Rock1500 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 What where the numbers for this cai? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

medic717 Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 where did you get yours from? And if you don't mind how much did you pay? so I don't over pay thanks Ordered from autoanything.com. 263.49 shipping and all. That was with it 20 percent off. It was the cheapest I could find.
Jimmy W Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 The Volant is a true cold air system!Thats why I unloaded my Airaid and went with a Volant? The Airaid sucks hot air and is worst that the stock system!!
medic717 Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Did you install the power core one?I went with the pro 5 with the oiled filter. I have had it before and it last forever just needs cleaning from time to time. I personally had rather clean and oil the filter than have to replace it later down the road.Is the part number 15553?My part number was 15553 on the paperwork
medic717 Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 powercore is a 100K filter fyi I did notice that but I think it's more restrictive than the oiled if I understood correctly. I think it all comes down to a preference tho
beast 10 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 The Volant is a true cold air system!Thats why I unloaded my Airaid and went with a VolantThe Airaid sucks hot air and is worst that the stock system!! I do not doubt that the Volant is a good CAI but maybe you had something wrong with your Airaid MIT. 99% of Airaid owners have reported great results and I haven't read of any issues other than paying a lot for just a tube .
