Service rear park assist questions

So I've been reading other threads about the sensors not working due to dirt build up, tailgate down, hitch attached... Etc.. The issue I have is I was driving my mom in law around today to look at some senior homes. My rear park assist worked fine leaving the house. Got to a house to look at, shut car off. Got done, got back in car fired her up got a "service rear park assist". Now when I put the car in reverse my rear camera works but no sensor beep occurs and no grids come on, no warnings what so ever while backing up and getting close to objects. Why would this all of a sudden occur. Temps are in the lower 30's and it was snowing. No buildup on sensors, none are popped out, switch on dash is lighted up, and if I turn it off I'll get a message it's off, but when I turn it on I won't get an on message, but the switch lights stays on. I received about 3 messages stating to service the rear park assist, and since then I've received no more. It's currently now raining and system still won't work. Vehicle is one week old, 2016 Silverado LT Z71 600 miles. WTF is going on kinda disappointed my week old truck isn't working correctly, especially since I traded in a Cruze and the rear sensors never had a problem for 100k miles. Frustrated

I realize this is absolutely no help, but I had a similar issue with my 16 LTZ Z71 less than a week and 200 miles after getting it. Front park assist on drivers corner would go off when I slowed to 7 mph or less. Made an appointment and drove it for 3 days doing this. All of a sudden it stopped. Have 1000 miles on it now and it hasn't acted up since.

 

Is there anything you can do to reset it? Did you try using the switch on the dash to disable and enable it?

The switch on the dash turns on and off indicated by the light. When I turn it off, I get a message on the display indicating so. When I turn it on, no message but the switch light stays on. Not sure how to do a reset. Allot of other threads I've read in regards to bad weather stated the park assist would be deactivated. Not my case, got a service park assist message in the display. Why would this occur I didn't crash or anything. It worked when I was parking the car to look at the house. One thing I did do was lower the tailgate and then close it. Could the vibration caused a wire to come lose? If so .. 48k truck with piss poor design... IMO unacceptable.

So today it's raining after a long trip up the parkway it works again. Guess it's just something I have to live with. Sensors and/or system is sensitive.
