6.0 Exhaust

Hello,

I have a 2000 Suburban 2500 with the 6.0 motor. I'm looking to get my exhaust to sound a little more aggressive. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the subject as well as any insight on the exhaust system as a whole.

Would like to just focus on the muffler and also want to leave cats in unless there is some sort of way around the check engine light because I hate staring at them.

Any tips or help is much appreciated.

You are up north, so you will want to study the metal.

I cannot help as it does not matter a great deal in the South (little to no salting), but suspect stainless steel may be on the list.

I don't think you can go wrong with Magnaflow. I just put a cat back system on my 2013 6.0 and it sounds great plus it's stainless steel. Once the catalytic converters get old then I'll replace them with Magnaflow as well. I would have done the complete system but short on funds at the moment.

Do a little research on the mufflers for a 6.0, some of them cause a horrible drone in the cab, especially in the rear seats!

I put a Gibson catback on my 2011 6.0 has a bit of drone when downshifting. Cruising on flat land can hardly notice it. I may throw up a sound clip.

Spark plug de-foulers will do the trick. I did this to my G6 when both catalytic converters failed. Rather than spend $700 on replacing them, I spent $4 on de-foulers and gutted them. No check engine light, and it's been almost 50,000 miles now.

Any decent cat-back will provide some good sound.
