Was holding off putting a subwoofer in the truck, at most was thinking about one of the 8" powered compact units, either the Kicker or Rockford. By chance, came across an ad for the Kicker PT250 at a local Walmart for $49.00. Went there, sure enough they had two of them, $49.00 ea. Both were new in the box items. Bought both of them, one for the truck, one as a spare. Having already installed an inline compact amp, install was a snap, took the signal from the wire rear speaker leads going into to the Alpine amp, ran these down the passenger side. Power wire feed through the firewall is actually rather simple if you remove that grommet tucked up behind the distribution block. Power wire feeds down the driver side.

As for power and sound, can tell you it's more than enough for what I wanted. Running high level inputs, we set the gain at about 30%. Amp is only rated 100 watt rms (90 at the lower distortion rate) so I wasn't expecting bone jarring, rattle your teeth hard hitting bass (which I didn't want anyway), but rather a compliment to the balance out the system.

Do you have pictures of the wiring you did from the back speakers

I installed an Alpine 445U compact amp last year tucked behind the glove box. I just spliced a Y into the feed off the HU and ran a pair of wires down the passenger side door sills. Even if you only have the stock HU with no added amp, you can do a T-Tap right off the HU. Plastic bezel surround pops off (spring clips), HU secured with 4 small bolts. Glove box (lower part) is removed with 4 torx screws. Lot of videos on youtube showing how to do this. No kidding, it's a 10 minute job to get the dash apart and the door sills opened up, everything is held together with spring clips and a few small bolts.

Was browsing on their website through clearance items when saw it. As for the spare, we might put it in his '14 Durango, if not it will sit on the shelf for some obscure project down the road

PS, you have no idea, I am the definition of a scrounger
