Add-on "Factory" Alarm System Later?

Has anyone ever added a GM alarm system to their truck after the fact?

 

I have a '96 GMC Yukon SLT without an alarm and am looking for the easiest plug-n-play alarm system which will incorporate my factory remotes.

 

I know that there are better systems out there, but don't need anything fancy, and would like to keep the fact that there is a system in the truck quiet and retain the factory remotes.

 

I have seen several GM systems which will work on my truck for very reasonable prices lately & would like to go that way if I'll get value for my money.

Take a look at the GM VSC3300.  I see them on Ebay frequently (do a search for "gm alarm" and a few should come up).  I think they usually go around $40.

Some wiring is required, but I installed one in my friend's '95 Monte Carlo a few years ago, and if you know your way around wiring, it's not so bad.
