2015 Sierra no audio at all

Driving to work this morning I had waze piped through Bluetooth like usual and would swap back to xm each update. At one point the screen froze and the volume couldn't be turned up or down.

I stopped the truck, turned it off opened the door to turn the radio off, waited a few seconds and started it back up. It took a bit for the screen to become responsive to where I could change radio formats but I had no volume including the warning chimes.

Brought it into the dealership while driving with no volume and when I got there the tech saw the issue. He turned the truck off waited a few seconds and turned it on. Boom everything was working including chimes. He said all he was doing was messing with the volume controls like I was doing and it acted like it was muted but now it's working.

Has anyone experienced this?? Very strange.

Hasn't happened since. I'm hoping this was just a fluke.

One thing I noticed this morning was when I first started the truck the screen was on the XM radio ID yet the last XM station I was playing was on. None of my presets were there but about 10 seconds later they appeared.

Whatever you do, don't wipe the dash while the HMI is running. The results vary, from nothing to frozen display and unresponsive controls (yes, including HVAC). The HMI can be reset or it might require reprogramming.

I've had my display lag sometimes, but I don't think it's a huge problem. I've never had something not work. I guess it's more like a computer and sometimes a computer or your smartphone can lag.

This one instance it didn't lag; no sound (including the chimes) was coming out at all no matter how many times I pulled over into the parking lot, turned off the truck and opened the door to turn the radio off, and start everything back up. It only fixed itself when the service guy started it back up after we waited a bit.

I know that time wasn't just lag. I was just talking about when you said it took a few seconds for the XM stations to come up. That is normal I would think because of the reason I said.
