Chevy Dealer "Can't Install My Leveling Kit"....

I'm not mad for this problem. I bought my truck 3 weeks ago and it's been in getting body work and detailed for the past 2. This was a partial potential remedy to stop me from railroading them online but clearly it's not working.

It's a LONG story. My anger doesn't just come from this problem. It's a very long list.

Why don't you just install it in your self driveway? Sure sounds like you bought someone else's problems in the form of a well used truck and expect the dealer to make it like new or you will "railroad" them online.

I would never ask a dealer to install aftermarket parts on my vehicle. I had a Jeep Wrangler before and I did all the work to it myself or took it to a replicable shop that specialized in what I wanted. Just my opinion.

Well guys I guess I'll do it in the driveway. Just some background information. It's a 2014 Sierra All Terrain with 24k miles. I was excited to get it.

 

However my list of dealership problems since purchase include:

 

- MINOR body work not completed correctly

- Not detailed

- Not serviced properly

- Filthy Loaner Vehicle

- Very rude employees

- Multiple visits to the dealership with nothing to show for it

 

* Still driving a loaner

 

General Manager of dealer promised Nicer Tires, Leveling Kit Install, Service Once Over, Full Third Party Detail....NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE and I'm still driving a Silverado LS work truck

 

 

So yes even though I probably CAN install the leveling kit myself, I full expected them to take care of it.

This is funny when I bought mine the dealer asked me if I wanted them to level it.

 

But I like the rake..

My dealership will install them, heck we've even done them on inventory vehicles just to sit on the lot that way... but they all come with a waiver

Just tell the Chevy dealership no problem. You have a appointment with the Ford dealer and he said no problem they will happily install it for you.

I have done full suspension lifts on several jeeps that I have owned, but with my brand new truck I decided to spend the extra $100 and have them install their own leveling kit. That way if I ever have any problems, the dealership cant say it was due to the work that I did myself. The dealership I use puts them on everyday and has tons of new ones on the lot that have full suspension lifts and they dont question the warranty at all. Matter of fact, they gave me another truck to drive for a couple of hours while they put it on.

Yes some dealerships are stoic and make you feel like a criminal for even thinking about any mods to vehicle. Then there are some dealerships that have no problem with light mods and performance parts.

Yeah I wish mine didn't make me feel like a criminal. Its just frustrating that they said they would do it....then decided they wouldn't.

You're the problem... there is no such thing as "their own" levelling kit. They're all jobber, none of them are the dealer's problem. They are all at your own risk, and that's why lots of dealers refuse to do aftermarket modifications... people assume it becomes the dealer's problem just because they did as the customer requested. The fact that they are the dealer, doesn't give them a warranty magic wand.

I wish I could railroad customers when they come in with petty warranty complaints. Or at least try to use that as leverage ?

How in the hell does that make me the problem. That's ignorance speaking. I am a former service advisor and understand the entire process. My point is that I choose to take my truck to a dealership that offers leveling kits and full suspension packages. I realize that it's not "their" level kit, but it was not a part I provided. It was a level kit that they offer through their parts department and install in their service department and do so every day. The fact that they actively promote and install such products makes it pretty difficult for them to say that the level kit was the cause of any warranty type problems since they sell and install them.

A dealership has every right to not sell or install them and I certainly understand why they would not. I also would not be upset if they chose not do that. So why would you say I am the problem when a dealership has 20 jacked up brand new trucks lined up front and offered to install a level kit on my brand new truck? You seriously think they are jacking up all these trucks and then voiding warranties? I have done business with them for a long time and they are great to work with. They do in fact have a "magic wand" ? Who gets to decide what is warranty and what is not? Certainly not me. I have seen dealerships go out of their way to make sure warranty covers some issues I have had and I have seen some that try to stick it to you by making false claims. My wife was told by a non GM dealer that if she didn't do a $400 30,000 mile service on her car that it would void the warranty. Just like the $8 in cabin air filters that they charge $40 for, $40 air filters, $30 wiper blades and everything else they jack up on uninformed customers. I can assure you I am informed and understand what is and is not covered!!
