New '14 RCSB 5.3 accelerator question

I bought just recently a '14 Silverado rcsb with only 2400 miles. It has the 5.3 and a 3.42 axel. What I can't get used to is the laziness in the accelerator pedal. It seems that you have to really depress it to go then overshoots. My '02 is basically the same setup even with the fly-by-wire tb and it's extremely responsive. So are all of these trucks this way?

I have heard there is a "torque management" that is causing this in the ECM, is this correct and how to get rid of it??

I bought a used 2010 about a month ago. i feel the same way about mine but mine has the 3.08 ratio so its even worse

There are several of us that have fixed the pedal flex issue. I took some 3/8 inch wood dowel about 2" long and pried the throttle bracket up a little and then slide it behind the throttle pedal bracket and it works perfect and no flex at all. This will correct the rubber mounted flex problem.

Ok so this isn't a software problem then? Do you have any pictures?

Yep, gotta tune it out. Get a custom tune and your truck will feel twice as torquey and 10 times more responesive. The transmission shifts can be much faster/smooth and shift points tweaked to where you want them.

The pedal flex won't eliminate all the throttle 'laziness'. 90% of it is due to torque management

Welcome to drive by wire. A tune helps a little. There is also a little device called the "sprint booster" that plugs in at the gas pedal. A lot of guys think it is snake oil but I can tell you for a fact it does work.

Just from what I've heard people say, all it does is trick the computer in thinking that you pushed it harder or it just sends a faster signal. Honestly for $300 it's not worth it and I'd rather just do a custom tune or even a generic tune for the '14+ 5.3s . But, that's just me. Of course not saying it's "snake oil" since it's not fake and does seem to work, just it doesn't seem worth $300 and would rather use the money for a tune.

Who all does custom tunes? I contacted Black Bear and they want $600 that's a little steep for me.

Blackbear does not charge 600 bucks.

now if you want an Autocal, it can allow you to swap tunes and it is a little pricey. Basic in person tunes that include ECM and TCM are 300 dollars. WORTH EVERY CENT!

You should contact Jennabear on this site and she can explain everything.

Just read around on here I dare you to find one bad review of BBP.

Agreed. I figured the price would have come down by now but for those guys that don't want to risk a tune...? Why not. The only reason I don't have one now is that it is one of those gadgets that you should unplug if your truck sits for three or four days as mine does. But as much as I hate to admit it, I was pretty impressed. Now when they sell for 75 bucks......

Ya I was thinking that if it was more like $50-100 then maybe it can be a cheap alternative or something that can "hold you" until you get a tune done. But, for $300 like I said, it's just way too much for how it does it. I know they need to pay for the R&D and all, but I think they're trying to make it seem like it does more than it really does. If you notice, I don't think they the company have said how they change the throttle response in any ad, just that it does it.

The vid I posted from youtube shows how it works. You might not be able to see it if your on a mobile device or phone.
