2015 GMC drives better after 10,000 miles?

So I noticed the other day that my truck seemed to be riding some what smoother and the gas pedal seems more responsive now. Before, it seemed like I had to press the gas pedal down a lot to even get moving, where as now, it seems like it responds a lot better although not completely gone. Also, it seems like the truck doesn't shift as hard before when increasing speed.

My step-dad recently bought a used 2014 Silverado that had around 10,5xx miles on it. I drove it soon after he got it and it feel smoother than my truck. My 2015 just recently hit 11,000 miles and it feels so much smoother.

Is that just a coincidence or am I just getting use to the truck now? Has anyone else noticed this or felt the same way?

As far as mods go, I haven't changed anything that should affect this. Still stock height, stock rims and tires. I've only changed to led lights and painted emblems basically.

i felt the same way about my 2014 2500.. i got it with 2 miles and it was very stiff and the trans shifted weird, after 10k miles it rode and drove a lot better.

I know the trans has a learn mode for at least 2-3,000 miles. It just learns your driving style. Other parts also probably got broke in, but my '14 1500 rode really good ever since the day I bought it with 9 miles on it.

I just hit 11k miles after a year and a half of ownership (I don't drive it that much) and IMO the truck has gotten better. I still get that weird hard shift when going at slower speeds and the trans is gearing down every now and then. My ford work truck does the same thing so it does not surprise me too much.

Yeah, I still get those weird shifts, but it's so much more pleasant driving the truck now. I'm about the same as you, I got the truck late April and just hit 11k.

I picked mine up as a demo (was used as a loaner) with 2300 miles. It does want to act sluggish though I think this is the stock tune making it seem that way. About how long do you think I have for mine to get used to how I drive it and to hopefully develop better throttle response?

My 15 GMC sle z71 DC shifted ruff at first. Now at about 7200 miles butter smooth shifts and no vibes at any speeds. It does ride a little stiff I assume because of those rancho shocks.

Could also be your rim size and what tire pressures you run. Less sidewall will mean a rougher ride and so will higher PSI tire pressure. That's part of the reason I don't want any rims bigger than 18s even with bigger than stock tires. The other reason is if for some reason I have to hit the curb I'd rather the curb rash be on the tires and not the rims. Not too long after getting my truck I had to swerve towards the curb to miss someone that got way to over in the turning lane (including the middle turning lane it was only a 3 lane road so only 1 lane per direction) and I had to scrap against the curb. Wasn't a hard hit, just more or less ran against the curb. I have 18s and not a scratch on the rims, just rash on the front tire. I just like tire sidewall, especially on a truck. Can't stand low pro tires personally.

. I have the bright machined aluminum wheels with bridgestone dueler rh-s. At 37psi. Plus I know the rancho shocks are not great, but will do for now. Still a lot better ride then my 06 was.

I'm not a fan of the 20" size rims. Both the Sierra and our Traverse have the OEM 20" rims. Finding tires for the Sierra is no problem but the Traverse is a pain.

The only time I would consider bigger than 18s is if it's big ass tires like 44s or bigger and even then I probably wouldn't go over 20.

I actually like the look of 16's with 32 or 33 inch tires over 18's with the same tire size. My work truck has 17's with 32 inch AT tires and I like the looks of those as well. From what I have read on here or somewhere else that because of the large disc size that 16 inch rims will not fit on the 2014+ trucks so if I had to buy new rims they would probably be 17's.

I don't mind the ride of my truck with the 20's on it. Rides a hell of a lot smoother than my 03 Cavalier (Z24 so it was a sports car right? lol). Right now I'm running 18's with winter tires and I prefer the ride 20's give me, though that's likely because of the winter tires. Tires aren't too bad to find for 275/55R20 or 275/60R20 (which will be what I get next) just gotta be willing to pay a little extra.
