You may want to check your caliper pins

A couple of weeks ago I decided to replace the front pads and rotors on my 2011 Gmc 2500hd due to warped rotors. I ended up replacing all 4 calipers, rotors and pads. The caliper pins on every wheel were completely frozen inside the calipers. I mean nothing would budge them. I tried soaking them in kroil penetrating oil for about 4 days, heat, breaker bar and nothing would move. I ended up cutting the pins on the fronts with a cutting wheel and the threaded portion came right out of the bracket but the rest of the pin stayed in the caliper body. I will now anually remove and grease the pins on this truck

Yeah, and the OE caliper pin rubber dust covers and pin bushings swell with age, they need replaced once in a while. I had to buy new ones about six months ago...you can find the pictures on here if you search my name.

My pins started to give trouble, but I got them apart and I use a synthetic bearing grease that is waterproof. That seems to have solved my problem.

I ALWAYS take the pads and grind the tabs on the ends, as they are Punched out and leave an edge that makes them NOT slide with the caliper and cause many issues down the road.

On my 2500HD the pads would not slide, causing the brakes to drag. I found heavy corrosion between the stainless liners and the calipers. It needed impact technology to get the pads out! Cleaned and painted, used anti-seize grease, and all was great again. Oh, and changed to EBC pads all round. Truck is from Canada, now in UK.
