I have one ordered from my local authorized dealer. They (of course) say it kicks arse. I will try to remember to come back and report if I follow through with a purchase. i would like to keep my AFM at highway speeds like 60 and above but not sure if that is an option with any of these hand held programmers. I am not that interested in more power the 6.2 8spd is already a beast I but would appreciate better throttle response (seems to be a delay there) and getting rid of the Huey Helicopter sound in V4 at low speeds with my GM Borla dual exhaust. Local superchips authorized dealer says 347 with tn tax so not much more than a range device at over 200 and it is limited to just afm cutoff. As long as i can put back to stock easily to avoid any warranty issues I am going to try something in the very near future be it diablo superchips etc. i guess the big thing here is not to get your expectations up to high since the minor adjustments that can be made inside your engine management system are not going to make much difference regardless. (man I hope that I can come back and eat those words LOL)

where can I buy one of those PERFORMANCE golf carts?

Well Houston we have a problem I emailed SuperChips and their unit will not let me set a speed for AFM it just cuts it off so order has been cancelled for the Superchips unit.

I have a

Hypertech Max Energy 2.0 Programmer

2016 GMC Sierra

(6.2L V8)

Part #: 2000 Ordered from AutoAnything at around 300 bones. According to Hypertech website and their reply to my email this thing is the chits LOL. Free overnight shipping so will program this weekend and report back next week. The Hypertech was the ONLY hand held tuner that I could verify that actually allowed setting the AFM to come on after a certain minimum speed has been met and that was my main criteria for my large amount of highway driving. We shall see how it works out. Would be cool if I can set the trans shift pressures I may set it up so that it chirps the tires on 1 to 2nd and 2 to 3rd just for fun..... be like my old TransAm with the shift kit back in my high school days. Awh I just feel so young to be a senior citizen!

I just picked up the 2845 for my 2016 Silverado 1500 5.3 and followed all instructions for the update then tried to load a tune and it says my truck tune isn't stock. Never had any problems with my sct itsx but it didn't support the new truck. Any idea why a brand new truck would read like that?

Have you tried calling superchips yet?

Since I wrote this I contacted superchips and they said to go to the dealer for a reflash back to stock so i called the dealer and they said no, truck is stock, the tuner must not support the model year yet, which they claim to do. I'm thinking a return while I still can and do some more research.

That seems strange. Yeah they do claim they work on 2016s.

I have both a diablosport and I had bought an edge cs2 for my GMC Denali 2016 5.3 8 speed and no problems with my diablosport but I tried on the edge and nothing but problems locked my truck up and wouldn't start. Their tech service got me up again quickly was able to load a 87 tune but didn't feel much difference but that's not fair to say cause didn't keep it in long enough but returning to stock same thing happen programmer stopped and had to call customer service wouldn't load stock tune. After fooling around we got it but just a night mare. I think they jumped the gun saying they support the 2016's I was hoping the tranny support would be awesome they say would work but the whole programmer doesn't. I am not new to tuning either have used all platforms sct superchips before on a ford no problems pretty much same company livernois, do data logging custom tunes , etc.. Right after loaded back Diablo i2 no problems at all.

Ya I have been on this forum for 6 months now reading and finally joined today just so I could post this as I would of loved someone to save me the heart ache lol so figured I would help people looking to go this route. I believe they will get it because they asked me to send the error and troubled files so they could fix but right now they just aren't ready to release the support for the 16's as they superchips and edge has announced.

Glad I cancelled the superchips order. I got a HyperTech Max energy 2.0 part 2000 and have set my AFM to only come on above 50 mph that seems to work just fine. The Hypertech does give 2 options for the 2016 6.2 engine a 87 octane and a 91 octane tune I went ahead and put the 91 octane in but cannot really tell any difference in performance....... The Hypertech currently does NOT have coding for any transmission or torque management adjustments so my tire chirping is on hold for now LOL. Apparently they will have an update available at some point in the future that can be downloaded for free. Right now I am pretty darn happy having the AFM not be active until 50mph or above that was my main goal anyway. But hurry up HyperTech I need tire chirp man. One thing that I noticed and might help members here is the HyperTech folks wanted me to pull a bunch of fuses and crap which I did the first time around but I found all that to be totally unnecessary just be careful to not have anything come on when programming (radio off - light off -HVAC off etc) and it works just fine. I was a bit leery of the cheap feel of the plastic box and the way the buttons depress feels a bit cheesy but it seems to work so far. Still seems to be a good price if I can get the tranny code soon.

That's good to hear. Honestly I think a good tranny tune will make these trucks feel like they got an extra 50 hp. My truck shifts 4 times before 30 mph totally killing any type of performance feel.

I returned the flashpaq today and ordered the Diablo. Can't wait! They were very cool about it after I explained what happened. They have my business from now on.
