Help Lowering my 2008 Silverado 1500

Hi Guys-

I recently got a good deal on a 2008 Silverado 1500 Base 2wd, 4.3. The truck is very straight and clean and is just begging to be dropped a touch. I want it do be as smooth of a ride as possible, as it's a DD at the moment. I plan on running those 5 spoke polished or chrome wheels that came on the Tahoe LTZ but I can't locate the actual name, I know OEWheelsLLC offers those in 20" and 22" variety, so if I cant find them used, I may go that route.

I was thinking of either a 2/4" or 3/5" kit. There are so many different kits and options out there, I am having a hard time deciding which route to go. Belltech & McGaughy's seem to be the 2 best options as far as I can see online?

What is actually needed to lower this truck though? I see flip kits, shackle and hanger kits, drop springs, drop shocks, spindles, etc. Which the "proper" way to lower this truck? I will be doing it myself and would appreciate any links to write-ups, photos or installs. If anyone has experience with brands, that would be great also!

Thanks,

Sean
