Recall on upper control arms 2016 Silverado. DO NOT DRIVE

Any one else get this recall on theres? I got the recall sent to me in a Fed Ex overnight envelope today. The upper control arms have welds that may fail by the bushings. Also says no parts are available for the repair. It states not to drive the vehicle in bold letters. It will be flat bedded to the dealer for repair. When I called my dealer, they had no knowledge of the recall at all. I called Chevrolet, and at first the girl had no knowledge of it either. Then found it and looked up the parts and had them sent to my dealer asap. She told me less than 1000 vehicles were affected. I was wondering if anyone else got this.

Sorry it's sideways. When I took a picture of it it was the right way. When I post it goes sideways.

My build date was 3/16. I looked the VIN up in the recall center and it says I am NOT affected. Thankfully.

I was affected by this. I have a 2016 AT that was built in April. Had it for 14 days, paid my sales tax on it, then that afternoon I get a call stating that it had a "stop recall". This was on April 28th. As of today nobody can tell me anything. My new truck is sitting on the lot after returning it back to the dealership and I have insight as to when it will be fixed. They did give me a loaner truck, but it is a far cry from my loaded AT. To say I'm dissatisfied with GM would be a extreme understatement.

Just picked up my new 2016 Midnite on Monday. Was going to get my leveling kit put on this weekend but looks like I am going to have to wait to see if my truck is affected by this recall. Is it only certain trucks built on certain months?

The easiest was to figure out if your truck is affected is to go to the recall center in the Chevrolet Mobile app or the Cheverolet Owners Center and punch in your VIN #

Just a update. Talked to the dealership and the replacement control arms have been shipped to them. So looks like the end is near.

Glad this did not happen to somebody with a lift on their truck. We all know GM never puts faulty parts on a truck.......

I put my lift on AFTER they fixed it.. just a leveling kit..

I'll upgrade to a 6" in the future..

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
