tranny issues

Well I have another issue with my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3 liter SLE crew cab with 41000 kilometers on it.

I left a Tim Horton's parking lot and had to step on it didn't realize the vehicles were coming so fast and when I did it wrapped up and started going like normal and all the sudden jump from 3000 RPM to redline in a second and I didn't accelerate at all then 5 seconds later it started accelerating and then it kept hesitating.

Anyone ever had this issue before I've had a lot of bad shifts and shifts at wrong times with this truck since I got it and GM keeps saying there's nothing wrong with it it's probably because I got a bigger tire size on

Bone stock and I have had similar issues. Sometimes when I step on it it takes a while for it to figure out what to do, other times it will downshift only to downshift again. Sometimes during a downshift if feeds like it hits every gear from 5th on its way to 2nd. Last week, while coasting to a stop light, it downshifted and gave me a small burst of acceleration toward the back of the truck in front of me. All of this is normal according to my dealer. They keep telling me that there is nothing wrong with it so they cannot fix it. It is my opinion that it is broken.

This transmission just down shifts and picks the wrong gear sometimes.

The transmission then just lets the engine rev the crap out of it's self before it decides it needs to shift.

I took my bosses 2015 EcoDiesel for a drive and it shifts so smooth you never feel any of the ships no matter how I drive it billion times better than my GMC kind of makes me want to buy one until I noticed a $300 oil changes

My truck is in the shop for the 3rd time (starting 4/23/16) for tranny problems. 1st repair was TCM, which did not help. Second attempt was to replace all the fuel injectors since they tested bad (?) & this was causing issues with the tranny. On both repairs I immediately took the truck back to them. This time, I dropped the truck off on 4/16, and when I called them yesterday, they said they would start working on it today. I told the service guy that I thought they'd had enough chances to fix it, and at this point they need to get approval from GM for a replacement transmission. He agreed, but said the decision was up GM. This coming Monday they've had the truck for a month. Sickening.

That's terrible. This will be my last gm product I ever bought. I also boat a 2014 cruze 2lt at the same time and I've has nothing but issues with it as well. Imo gm shouldn't make vehicles anymore

And all the EGR problems they're having at around 60-70k

Hi 11bDad,

I am very sorry to hear that you are having some concerns with your dealership. I understand how frustrating it is to be without your truck for a month and still not have your repairs completed. I would be happy to reach out to the dealer on your behalf. Please private message me with you VIN, mileage, contact information, and the dealer you are working with.

Kindly,

Anthony Z.

Interesting about the Cruze, I found a great deal on a new left over 2014 Cruze LT recently and considered trading my '09 Impala LTZ on it. However, I have virtually no problems with my Impala and I was worried about the reliability of Cruze, as they seem to have quite a few transmission problems with that car, both manual and automatic. So I kept my Impala.

What problems have you had with Cruze? I also have a 2013 Sonic LT and no problems whatsoever, have 50k miles on it now. But it has a manual 5 speed transmission.

$ 300 oil changes? Get serious. I can change oil in my deuce and half multifuel diesel, which takes 22 quarts of oil and two large oil filters for under $130 in cost of oil and filters. My 1985 Mecedes 300 turbo diesel takes 8 quarts of oil and one large canister oil filter. It costs me about $ 40 to change oil on that one.

My friend I'm afraid you quoted the wrong person. Yea I must agree, there is no way they require $300 oil changes

Here in Canada the oil changes at the dealers are almost $500. The oil here cost $10 per liter and it takes 10. $38 for an oil filer and $42 for fuel filter. These are oem filers and our cost. My boss owns a hd truck repair shop.
