Air bag gauge mounting question

Hello everyone, new to the forum, I sold my 2003 Sierra Duramax and am in the process of buying a 2016 - 6.0 Sierra. I am looking for ideas of where to mount an air compressor switch / gauge on these new trucks that have the full console. Are you guys mounting the gauges in the plastic housing on the side of the console about where your shin would be? How difficult to find an open circuit to power the compressor, not much computer integrated stuff to worry about on my old 2003.

 

All ideas welcome and pics would be outstanding!

So, for a compressor and control panel its over $300, at least here in Canada. Being that I'm a pretty handy dude, I'm piecing it all together myself. This is the 12VDC pneumatic valve I'm using,

 

 

This is the compressor and where I'm going to mount it,

 

 

I'll be bolting the valve like this :

 

As for the controls, I bought an Autometer two gauge, gauge panel, I'm using a low pressure gauge, and a two position momentary contact switch. I'll mount the switch in the open hole of the panel. And I'm going to screw it to the side of the console here :

 

I was originally thinking of mounting it where you're talking, but my wife drives the truck a lot, and she's got a short wheelbase, so it would get in the way of where she has the seat.

The wireless setup has a digital wireless gauge. No gauge in can. I have had 2 of these setups from Firestone Ride Rite.

 

There is no way I'm putting a gauge in my cab if I put another bag system on my current ride. Just my opinion though.

Those kits are over $1100, there's no way I'm paying that to control my compressor. I'd sooner just use the Schroder valves out back before paying that.
