HIDs without disabling DRL

I installed my HIDs a couple days ago and did not pull the fuses for the daytime running lights. All seems to be working fine but it seems like a lot of folks say they need to be disabled. Am I in the clear, or am I asking for trouble running the daytime running lights with no relay.

HIDs do not like frequent on/off cycling. That's why you disable the DRLs, not because of any wiring concerns or whatnot. I just went with LED bulbs in my Sierra.

depending on the year of the truck the biggest issue with changing to hids was the fact that for the drls the truck only used about 9 volts since the headlights were the hids. they make a relay kit that makes the drls as bright as the headlights any time they are on

Definitely need a relay on NNBS trucks or you will develop issues later and possibly burn out a bulb or ballast. If you start to get rapid pulse, flicker or the occasional non-start issue the relay will fix this.
