CEL intermittent on start up

So like most trucks of this gen, mines an '05 GMC, my gauge cluster is shot. That doesn't bother me but my CEL doesn't light up upon start up all the time which is an automatic fail on emissions testing if it doesn't function when they check. Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea on how to fix it? I took the gauge cluser out and all wires seem good, I guess I can check the soldering on the light too. Any help is appreciated.

Can't say I have. But you're right on the flash on start up. I'd look at a replacement cluster.

I sent it off for a rebuild that should fix the issue. I need to get her smogged before deer season so I don't have to run my brand new truck through all that brush.
