Hood has to go unless the front onf the hood gets modified to fit the new grille and headlights

By any chance did you change the metal piece support that mounts into the frame? It sort of looks like a spider.. and it's has the 4 brackets things where the grill mounts into.

My dad has the 16 and the mount I'm talking about looks a little shorter than my 15.

Here's the before and after. Foglights are working I'm only waiting for the gen5diy harness. But everything went flawless. Let me know if you have any questions on parts. Totally worth it.

Here's some pictures of factory headlights fully functioning. Special thanks to pgamboa for his time and talent with the wiring harness he helped with.

Your truck looks great and I agree, I love the style of the new headlights, and grill design. The re-vamped front end was the reason I bought my truck!

Any chance you took pics of the conversion process or have written instructions? I have a 2016 SL and hate the convetional bulb for a signal light. I really want to convert to the LED signal light and additional running light. From what I have seen so far, the signal light is a component of the upper headlight assembly, is this correct or can it be switched out without changing the headlight assembly? Also, do you have the specific part numbers for the assembly. I checked with the parts department at my local dealership and, well, they were less then helpful.

You also mentioned that there was work needed with the wiring harness, was this due to the model gap? I am curious if I can "plug and play", or what would be required to make the conversion.

THANKS!

Thank you.!

The only thing you need is the hood, front panel, both headlights and bumper. Hopefully your bumper will have the inner brackets.

A member here pgamboa is working on a plug and play harness I think., but gen5diy.com has the harness and is plug and play.

Just wanted to share my project for those who might be interested on doing the conversion. Some might think is a waste and some might actually like it. every body has there own taste and gotta respect that. My truck started as a 2015 silverado black sport edition I think that's what's called. It was wrecked and I had to replace front end so why not upgrade while at it. Here is the result.

if you are converting from 2015 to 2016, you'll need a 3 Ohm Resistor between the ground and turn Signal circuit for each side.

If you have 6 ohm resistors (the most common ones out there), you'll need two of those for each side.

If you have 2016, you only need one 6 ohm resistor for each side.

Hope this helps.

I know you need 2 resistors on each. I can't remember which wires it might be the turn signal and power..

@Dru2424

I see in your profile that you have 2016. I have extra materials from a harness I built for my truck. Makes it Plug and Play if you do not want to cut/tap into your factory wires. PM me if you want more info.

Yea I don't want to cut anything since I bought them from the dealer so it came the new harness meant for the lights

I see what you mean now those connect to the end of the harness

Yep - The resistors are built into the PnP harness that plugs in between the stock harness and under the bumper.
