Ok folks I have seen on youtube that a simple plug and play can upgrade my current radio will give me apple touch, now trying to find places that do it is nearly impossible, does anyone know of someone in WA state or nearby that does it?

Thanks in advance.

I can save you some time. If your GM has a build date before June 2015 it does not have that capability (at this time hopefully but probs never) it cannot do Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

* All 2015 Sierras/Silverado were built before this date so not need to even check.

Thats not entirely true. There is a vendor on here called MVI that can update your stock unit to have Apple Car Play along with some other features. Like playing movies on it and other thing.

But it'll cost you. I think I read its between 800-1000 bucks

Fondupot is one of the ones that did it and I think his truck is a 2014. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/186043-2016-gmc-intellilink-w-apple-carplay/?hl=mvi&do=findComment&comment=1793736

My 2015 Silverado was built on 08/07/2015. Which is after June 2015.

Check out my last post. Apply Carplay is completely possible, and for less than $750. But dont take that from me, contact the shop in my post and he will get you a quote.

Updates with or without pre-out.

hey mctred,

what you need to do is contact anthony at MVI. He will get you the proper modules for the truck. They will be shipped to you, then you can either install them yourself, or get a audio shop to do it for you. It took me about half an hour to do the Apple CarPlay install on my 2015. If you're in eastern WA I'd be happy to do it for you, I'm over in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area a lot for work!
