New Wheels and UCA's

That's a good price, we get shafted in Canada on that kind of stuff. Im thinking they should fit as well from what I gathered. Called around to a few tire shops and aftermarket truck shops and they said I should be good.

How does the truck ride after the slight level?

I have a work car so the truck isn't driven much during the week and I didn't drive it much prior to turning the bars up but I didn't really notice much of a difference. Also I didn't max the bars out and I'm still a little higher in the rear. But after adding the Cognitos and shock extenders I do seem to notice a smoother ride than before.

I'm thinking the 275/70/18 should fit without any issues without raising the front end but I'm no expert.

They look like they should fit. I just don't want any rubbing at all even when turning and driving through low spots. I know with my 2014 1/2 ton with a four inch BDS lift ( pushed the front wheels out 1.5 inches) and zero offset rims I had 275/65/r18 and one size bigger would have rubbed. I know it is a different truck and all but it looks like it may be close. If I get it done first (hoping by the end of this week) I will let everyone know :)

Only reason it would rub would be from that zero offset. If you dont push them out to much should be good. My wheels and tires were ready two days ago but can't pick them up and get them on till Saturday because of work. Can't wait to try this out.

I put at least a 285 70 17 on all my 1500's with no lift and no rubbing. Just stuffed some Pro Comp on my daughters 07 Sierra. Looks awesome

Well got the 275/70r18's on. They fit beautiful BUT do rub the mud flap a bit when turning ONLY. So probably just going to tie them back a bit and will be good.

Thanks for letting us know. What kind of mudflaps do you have? Are they normal rubber ones that are typically about 1/4 or 3/8 thick or a different style? Any chance of pictures by chance? Thank you.

I put the factory moulded plastic ones on so that they didnt take up any room in the wheel wells. Would that help ?

there the ones that came with the truck. can't do pictures because this forum is junk and says 1mb or under. i posted pictures on the duramaxforum.com site. only reason would be from the thickness. i did drill into them through the wheel liner and zipped them back. boom no more rub.

I ended up getting the 275/70/R18's on Fuel flow 18 x 9 with 20 mm offset just like yours. With the factory plastic moulded mudflaps and cranking the torsion bars up 1 3/4 inches, I have zero rubbing. The right front wheel is closest to the front fender liner when turning left but still clears. I am very happy with the look and lack of rubbing. I think even when the suspension travels it will still be ok although it is a little bit stiffer now.

Installed Cognito UCA's with shock extensions and Fuel Assault 18x9 +20 offset (tires are Cooper STT MAXX 295-70-18)

Ride is noticeably better

Considering upgrading tie rods with Kryptonite Tie Rods

Looks great bro! You know Readylift makes a 4"kit with all you put on and new tie rods.. Just fyi

Question tho, did you get alignment?

And how I'd ride now? Do tires make ride stiff?

I don't think it's stiffer because of cranking up but it is tires. They are harder and more dense than stock.

Yes I got an alignment after both the cranking of the tbars and then again when I added the UCA's.

I went in for an alignment today. Ended up with one side at 2 inches higher and one side 1 3/4. So we set both at 2 inches and did alignment. The tech did not have specs for a 2016 so he used 2015 specs even though it is a newer machine. Hopefully they are the same specs.

Truck is not so "twitchy" now. The ride is ok. I like it a lot. I would post pictures but they are all too big.

    • Are you going to take long trips in it?  If so, try out the seats in the various trims. For me the lower trim level seats were not comfortable.
    • I have a 2016 that I bought new and still own. I'm around 129,000 miles now. The biggest problem was a transmission failure about 2 years ago around 95000 miles. No warning, just failed while driving down a back road. A reman GM transmission installed and it's been fine ever since. A few other minor problems along the way. I am in no hurry to replace it. It's been paid off long ago and do plan on driving this as long as I can.   I will admit I am leery about all the additional electronics in the newer models and feel that it is just more potential problems. I think there's actually more than I would have wanted in this 2016 but so far so good. I think even if something major like lifter failure happened, it would still be cheaper to at worst, drop a new engine in than buy a new vehicle.
    • I’ve own several successful businesses. I’ve bought homes and lived in different states. I’d witness several generations buy homes and survive in different economic circumstances. You get awful sippy when people have different experiences than you do. You live a life. I’ve lived a life. It seems our experience has been different. You can point out generalized statistics. Some people learn how to thrive when the odds are against them. Living in different states does make a difference in a persons quality of life and economic outcomes and opportunities. That’s a fact Jack. It’s my truth, my life. Hard work and long hours the right environment made my families life easier. And yes moving to a different state increased the odds of that happening. Stats are generalized. People who thrive don’t make excuses. They beat the odds. Others get mad and point to those statistics. I guess that’s you. My post pointed out how you helped people beat the odds. Somehow your panties got in a wad. Go figure.
    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
