GM Factory Leveling Kit?!?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know anything about a factory leveling kit from GM? I went to go pick up my plates today and asked if a lvl kit would affect my warranty and the said it would. They told me that GM has a lvl kit that complies with the warranty. Just seeing if anyone has one or has heard of it.

It only affects it if they can prove the damaged components are due to the modification of other parts. level kit isnt going to void engine warranty... But it might if you have a failed ball joint on the knuckle.

I have never seen a leveling kit with the GM logo on it. Since there's a pretty good demand for people to buy a brand new truck that already has aftermarket stuff done to it, if a dealership does the install or the dealer has an aftermarket shop do the work then it will still be covered under warranty. I don't think I would let a dealer do anything aftermarket though. Most of the time they just send it to a local "custom" aftermarket shop anyways. The truck I have now is the first truck I've bought that was brand new so I was hesitant to do anything at all to it other than accessories, like the exhaust. But, I got over it quick when realizing they'd have to prove what you did is what caused the problem. Just do what you want to, to the truck and don't lose any sleep over if it will void the warranty.

I didn't feel as apprehensive about modding my truck as i did my Audi s4. Most of the modifications we do the parts department sells nearly identical parts (intake, exhaust, level kits, wheels/tires).

I would call that dealer back and ask him to get you the part #'s for this Facotry GM lvl kit. I am sure we would all love to see that.

If they have it I will post it tomorrow when I call. The parts guys was gone when I was there today, but service was telling me about it all. We shall see.

Call this morning and told the parts guys I wanted to lvl my truck and keep my warranty and that I was told that GM offer a product that I could do that with. His reply was " well sir I'm going to have to make some phone calls and do some research." After looking at everything I think I want to go with the Bilstein 5100 adjustable height shocks. Anyone know the part number for those for my Chevy '16 Z71?? Or anyone have any knowledge of these?

There is a thread on Bilstein shocks and a vendor that posts there I think their names is MRT or that is close. They have the best price.

They can set you up with what you need.

Well I got the call back from the dealership today and they knew of nothing about a GM lvl kit not one that GM approved of. So it looks like Bilstein 5100s for me. Anyone know the best place to order them from and if they have them for the '16 yet? Prob a dumb question.

Just had them installed on my 16 last week. Ride feels better than stock. What part of Texas are you in? I had mine installed in San Antonio.

My dealer advised me a couple of months back that GM will be offering a leveling kit for 2017.

I was in the service bay last night and the S/A said my 2" level isn't tall enough to to create issues with my warranty. So it sounds like there are some service advisor discretion involved.
