GM Factory Leveling Kit?!?

Well I got the call back from the dealership today and they knew of nothing about a GM lvl kit not one that GM approved of. So it looks like Bilstein 5100s for me. Anyone know the best place to order them from and if they have them for the '16 yet? Prob a dumb question.

It only affects it if they can prove the damaged components are due to the modification of other parts. level kit isnt going to void engine warranty... But it might if you have a failed ball joint on the knuckle.

Yup this is correct it is on them to prove whatever mod you did caused the issue. Some can be easy a Waaazooo says with a worm knuckle easily being blamed on a spacer style lift. But they cannot very well say your knuckle was worn because you cut out the mufflers or resonators etc.

So that is a full set for the from and back? Sorry new at all this, the only think I did for my '11 Sierra was a K&N filter.

Yes but you need to pay for an installation and Alignment.

You only really need the front set. You could stick with stock shocks on rear since nothing is changing there or you could get new/matching ones for the rear too.

 

As the other guy said any time you do anything to suspension you need to also do an alignment. But these are better than plain old spacers.

I was going to do just the front for now, but at that price I almost just want to order all of them for $390. Defiantly getting an alignment, especially if I'm paying $235 a tire for some 275/70r18 BF KO2s. Wish someone on here at an "in" on some tires.

I just saw a 2014 1500 leveling kit installed. The dealer said it won't void the warranty, it will be around 500 bucks and they will give me aloaner car for the day. The truck looked pretty sweet with Goodyear all terrains and 20 in chrome wheels. I'm thinking about doing it to my 2014 ltz double cab..

Knuckle is a non issue if you install the proper level kit that includes differential spacers to keep front axle angles same as stock angle with lift

The geometry of the front suspension wasn’t created to include an additional 2-3” of lift in the front suspension. A diff spacer improves the angle of the cv joint not the ball joints. That is seemingly among first failures from a level-lift.

My dealership sold me my RC 2.25 level, 275/60 R20 BFG K02 tires and lifetime alignment. At that time, I was told that anything bigger (2.5 level or larger tires) would not be covered but what they installed is. I have the paperwork for the work. Was told at the time they do at least 1 level a week and the Chevy dealer right next door did even more.

My dealership sold me my RC 2.25 level, 275/60 R20 BFG K02 tires and lifetime alignment. My dealership sells new-trucks with the torsion bars cranked to the stops. There are dealerships that give free car washes for the life of the car but it doesn’t mean they are going to honor rust claims.

If you look at the suspension and see the UCA is against the bumpstop and that ball-joint is cranked out of a neutral position and think it’s a good working setup. Enjoy your truck.
