Service Rear Vision System 2016

1500 miles on my 2016 with the 8inch my link. Put it in reverse and the guidelines went away and "service rear vision system" was displayed on the screen. There was a post about this problem from 2014but has anyone else had this on a 2016?

 

Also before this error I had noticed the rear camera always stays on for about 10 seconds after I start driving forward. Does yours do that?

Haven't had a problem with mine on my '14. The camera on mine seems to stay on for maybe 2-3 seconds after taking it out of reverse which I don't mind. Have you actually timed it to being 10 seconds or does it just seem like 10 seconds?

 

Also is the picture still there, just the lines went away or is the whole thing off? I'm sure it's just a loose or bad wire somewhere. Have you tried turning off the truck and trying it again? Seems like most of this type of issue with these K2s go away by just letting it all reset. Seems like vehicles are more like computers more than ever.

I just counted to 6 in my head after in drive, then the image went away and radio screen came on.

 

After 2 restarts the error message went away

Did the lines show back up after those 2 restarts or did the message just stop?

Everything is back to the way it was before the error message after restart

If it's acting normal I wouldn't worry about. Like I said before, seems like when a lot of error messages come up on these trucks and goes away after you restart it then it's not a problem anymore. If it started to do it a lot and then I'd take it to the dealer.

Combined with the static issues I'm having on fm I'm starting to think something is wrong with the head unit

I have a 2015 and when I turn on the truck and throw it in drive quick, I will get this error message. Nothing to worry about for me at least.

This system is just glitch all though I see it happen less in the 2016 then I did in my 2014.

My 2016 has the static effect and at times will randomly go to a black screen on the infotainment screen and then reset. When it does this it kicks my phone off and then reconnects to my phone.

Well I guess it's best to mention it under warranty to have it on record should it act up again after warranty, you would have a case for having it fixed without charge.

Probably a problem with the software and just needs to be reflashed.

Just had this happen to me on my 2014 this weekend, probably the 4th time it has happened in the 2.5 years I have had it but I only have 16k miles on it. This time I didn't turn the truck off or anything to see how long the error lasted and it stayed that way for my 30 min drive home but the radio still worked but of course I couldn't change stations on the screen but I could with the steering wheel controls.
