Hey what does everyone think about AFM delete on the 5.3L? Does it increase power? Will it strain the tranny more than Normal?

You can shut the AFM off with a tuner without adding power.

What i'd like to know is can GM see if a tune was installed to disable afm? What if if was returned to stock tune before taken in for warranty?

That's a good question but mines isn't under warranty haha so i wouldn't have a problem.

Because GM lowered the warranty mileage, I'm thinking brand new next time. I usually buy 3 year old lease returns, but with the lower warranty miles now, I am not sure if I should or not.

Maybe if the AFM oil issues are rectified.

From what I understand, they can tell if a tune was used to disable the AFM, even if it was returned to stock for warranty work.

 

With the Range AFM disabler, you leave it plugged into the OBD port and if you have to take it in for something, remove the Range AFM disabler and there is no history of it on the computer
