Rough country 2.5" vs 2"

I bought a used 2014 gmc and noticed it had a rough country leveling kit. I'm not sure if the the previous owner installed a 2" or 2.5" kit. (The dealer had no idea and told me it wasn't leveled)

My question is, can anyone who has the 2.5" kit installed tell me if you can see the spacer on top of the strut? If so, can you attach a picture? I cannot see a spacer.

Measure the spacer. The 2" level kit measures roughly 1"

The top spacer is pretty thin for the RC 2.5 kit. I had that kit, but don't remember being able to see the top spacer once installed.

Well RC 2" is a lower. Shouldn't that be easy to distinguish?

Both use the same lower spacer. The 2.5" has an additional 1/4" thick top spacer.

 

Measure how far the studs stick up above the nuts on the top of the shocks and I'll measure mine to let you know if you have the top spacers.

Well RC 2" is a lower. Shouldn't that be easy to distinguish?

 

No, because the 2.5" has the same lower block.

That's interesting as I thought there was a used one on the lot I saw recently that had a level kit on . What state are you in and what color is your GMC ?

Both use the same lower spacer. The 2.5" has an additional 1/4" thick top spacer.

Looks like the studs stick up around 5/8" above the nuts

If it is a complete rough country kit. The 2.5 in leveling kit comes with rear blocks. If the entire kit was installed you may be able to measure the rear blocks to determine what was done. The 2 in leveling kit comes with just the lower strut spacer. The 2.5 comes with the lower strut spacer the top spacer and new rear blocks that measure 2 inches as the factory ones are I believe 1 inch. This may be an easier way to find out.

It's a 2" block in the rear. Looks like it's the 2.5" RC.

No problem. I only know that info because I have been researching leveling kits and it looks like I may end up going with the 2.5 rough country for my denali.

Yeah I feel like I can notice the rake. I measured the other day from the top of the tire to the fender and it's only 1/2 lower in front. Maybe once I get tires (factory out stock tires back on)

EDIT: I just measured and it's an inch taller in the rear. 38 3/4 in the front and 39 3/4 in the rear with stock tires

Damn that means to be level I have to get the 2.5 in kit and not install the rear blocks to be level.
