Grade Braking

I drive exclusively in M5 around suburbia here empty and towing my work trailer.

 

When driving in M mode, isn't "grade braking" supposed to be off???

 

When I put the selector into M mode, and "push and hold" the tow/haul button for the required time....................I get the "grade braking off" in the display. Isn't it supposed to be "off" anyhow!!??? Just a wondering if there's something not quite right here. No problems with the truck; just wanna learn how this crappola works on the thing!!!

M does disable Normal Powertrain Grade Braking. Tow/Haul Grade Braking (more aggressive than Normal Powertrain GB) is also disabled when you are in M (if you have Tow/Haul on in M). Holding the button in M is disabling it in D still though. IMO, no need to disable it in D from my experience. Doesn't change a thing for driving, shifting, etc.

See if you can turn it off in M4, then you will answer your own question
