2010 Tahoe A/C (ice cubes)

Hey all,

I've got a 2010 Tahoe LTZ with 66k miles on it. It's having a problem with the AC and I'm not sure where to start.

I can set it to 60 degrees, auto, rear, AC and the air circulates luke warm. Three times now, in the past month of this, I hear this clanking noise quickly followed up by an ICE CUBE flying out of the duct work at either myself or anyone in the passenger seat. While I don't drive with a hockey mask, mainly because of the heat, I do wear my eye protection for the gun range...

I have tried to charge the system (mixed with a dye) and checked for leaks. No luck.

Any thoughts before I bite the bullet and take it to a dealership?

Thanks

I agree. The evaporator freezing up is a sign of a slight under-charge.

It would be good to know system pressures along with ambient temperature when tested.

Just squirting in a shot of freon is a crapshoot.
