Need Help, Lift, Level, Tires, Wheels. What First?!

If you go with the 5100s 2". put the rears on yourself. Super easy. That will save you some money. Removing the front struts are fairly easy to do as well, then you could take them down to local shop to change them out. I paid $350 for the set of 4. Took out struts and Big O Tires changed out the Ranchos for $200. 295 55 20's will fit nice. I'm going to go with 285 65 18, same height and width. Had them test fitted and no issues. Oh yeah, it's only a 2" so the rear sits 3/4 higher. Much nicer ride that the Ranchos. Call autoAnything 800 874 8888 ext# 7078 (Roy). He will hook you up. Everything I buy from them is lower than what the site says.

That's a pretty good idea on having Big O just swap the shock. Did you happen to know what would they charge to do the whole thing, for convenience?

No, I bet your local shop could do it for less. I called a shop near me and they said $50 to swap the shock if I took the strut to them. This was after I already took them to BgO. I was in a bind and they were the only place open. Tried compressing the strut myself and broke the tool leaving me without an assembled strut.

When one lifts a truck, do they also level at the same time? If I go with Bilsteins Adj 5100s to achieve level now, and decide to lift later, how is the level achieved?

I have a 2015 silverado LTZ. Have a 2.5inch rough country leveling kit, and put 285/65r20's on the stock rims. With this done, it didn't affect my ride, handling or performance hardly at all. I do have other stuff such as a custom Black Bear tune, K&N Black Hawk cold air intake, with a muffler delete. Living it, and more mods to come. no, a lift is different. if you go with the 5100s now and decide to go with a 4 or 6" lift later, they will have to use longer shocks and probably replace control arms too. So your bilsteins would have to be removed. If you want a fast 2" level go with rough country $40. its just a spacer that sits between lower shock mount and control arm. that way it wont be a waste of $$$ in the future. I actually made my own level kit and it worked fine. but I had some extra mad money and it was burning a hole, so I went with the 5100s. 1" spacer will give you 2" lift.
