A little debadging and winter rim/tire setup!

Had some spare time over the weekend and finished the debadging and put on my winter tire setup. A little early but ski season does open on Nov 5th in the Rockies . I tossed on a set of satin black American Racing 901's 18x9 with a 20mm offset. Not the wheel I had originally wanted but for the price I couldn't say no. For the rubber I used LT275/70R18 Cooper AT/W's. I used the same rubber last season on my leveled 2015 Silverado 1500 and only put about 5,000km on them. They performed extremely well in everything that winter driving can throw at ya and they are e-rated...hoping they will wear great as the km's rack up. They are not super aggressive but have plenty of sipps to keep you on the road! Here are a couple pics...

I've never been a fan debaging but your truck looks nice! Might have to rethink things...

I've been eyeing those Coopers...are they full depth sipped tread? Or is the sipping partially through?

You bet...fully sipped so the performance should be maintained all the way through the wear cycle.

Looks Good. I want to get some rims and tires as I think these 22's will have issues in the winter. But it's not in the budget this year. will defiantly do it next year.

My 2014 had Duratrac on the 20's so never needed winter tires those tires were great in the winter.

Where did you get all the black trim pieces?

Which pieces NTD? I de-badged some of the chrome pieces but didn't replace anything else . Changes the appearance quite a bit...

The chrome pieces under the window and then in the middle of the door. Did you get black ones?

Also the chrome Denali HD...did you just remove? Or replace with something black.

I've always been a fan of black wheels but with all the chrome on the side of this truck I don't think it would look right.

I took off the Denali HD, the Duramax hood emblems, the chrome molding on the doors and the chrome on the tailgate. The window trim is still chrome to match the handles, mirrors and the chrome summer wheels. I have the same factory wheels as you and I'm a big fan of those. Gonna be wrapping them in 295/60R20's this summer. I just took another look at my pic and the chrome trim does look black...weird hey! Must be a reflection :dunno:. Your truck looks good by the way! Here is a pic of my old black '07 Sierra Classic with black wheels and a little de-badging...I liked how it turned out!

Ah gotcha...thanks!! It did look like you took all the chrome trim off.

Both your trucks look great!...love the black wheels.

I love a clean tailgate! I sometimes torn on removing the side emblems, but looks nice both ways.

Looks great. Any surprises when debadging- it looks like there are no holes to cover up, but I just want to make sure before I follow suite.

No surprises at all. Make sure you have a rubber wheel for your drill...it will make things a lot easier. Be sure to post some pics when you have it done!!

Thanks Big O, any chance you can elaborate on what you mean by a Rubber wheel?

When I have de-badged vehicles in the past I usually ended up with the ol fishing line/heat gun, and a bunch of orange smelling solvents for the left over adhesive. Plus a large amount of hand labor to get all the crap off.

If you have a better way I would LOVE to know about it.
