Plow setup

CC? Crew cab or classic cab? I have a 2012 crew cab and have a plow prep package...

What is a classic cab? everyone on here uses CC to denote Crew Cab. There is no plow prep for a 1500 CC. you have a 2500.

We are in the 2500/3500 section right? Tapatalk sometimes makes that hard for me to tell...

Sdeeter, there are engineers that have proven this works. I'll try to explain it a little more for you. One huge variable is the length of your bed, aka the amount of distance you can get the ballast behind the axle. A long box gives you like an extra foot compared to a short box. That is why crew cab short box trucks have the worst layout for plowing, while a regular cab, long box would be best according to this ballast leverage. Read the following for more info--->

I took enough physics in school to understand the forces at play...you would need a lot of weight BEHIND the rear axle to use it as a fulcrum to lift weight off the front axle...you don't have enough room for that kind of weight in normal sources (i.e., sand bags).

 

Again, by compressing the rear suspension, it uses the front axle as the fulcrum and gains lift of the plow...but it takes zero weight off the front suspension.

 

Go run across a set of scales and prove me wrong...again, it's a marketing gimmick to sell plows in my opinion.

 

I plowed a lot of snow in my lifetime...added all I can here. Have a nice day.
