Hello and THANK YOU! I have been all over the internet and can't seem to figure this out. I just traded in my 2011 GMC Sierra for a 2016 Silverado. The previous owner of my last truck had disabled all chimes, dings and clicks; If I could find that guy, I would hug him.... HARD.

Spoiled as I was, now my new truck is driving me bananas. I just want to be able to play the radio and that is it. Please someone tell me that I can just pull a fuse or cut a wire?!?

Can you customize these options in the radio/my link menu?

All of those sounds are played through the speakers, my guess is they would have to be programmed out of the head unit.

 

Someone with a gm tech 2 or similar might be able to do it.

I was able adjust the volume of some of the tones from my DIC. The seatbelt chime had to be turned down by my dealership. I would suggest keeping the chimes. They serve a purpose, usually safety related.
