im going to try it out on the stock chrome tubular running boards i think in a couple weeks.

ill be up at my cottage with a buddy who did the cap of his F150 in it so it would be nice to have a bit of a hand.

anyone know if the plastic steps on the tubular ones come off? if not i think i may just spray right over them.

i just hammered a big dint out of my rear bumper (man the rear bumper isnt easy to get off and on....) its not perfect so i also figured the bed liner would hide it a bit.

Did mine, love it. Also just sprayed my flares too.

I recommend a single stage paint applied to them after to keep it fresh black looking and not the glossy look.

what was the process?

I used bullet liner and yes I scuffed them both up. Everything on the bumpers accept the sensors and the lire plastics. I even sprayed the front air dam

I just picked up 2 cans of bed armour. Ill be blasting my running boards next weekend.

Depending on how it holds up over this winter ill decide if I'm going to do the bumpers.

I dont really want to paint the bed liner..so I'll see how it looks.

I have rhino liner in my box, professionally done and its awesome.

Bought some AMP research bars from a guy, had him cerakote them for me might have him cerakote my bumpers also.

now do you buy bullet liner?

It's a different brand. You don't buy it and apply it yourself but it's suppose to put preform line x.

Google them and see if they have any dealers around

Interested to see how the DIY turns out. From my readings I always hear that the paint your own liners tend to wear poorly on high wear areas (such as beds and cabin floors in jeeps) but since the bumpers aren't getting the same sort of wear and tear I'd imagine they hold up much better. Sanding those bastards is gonna be a chore though. Post some pictures when you finish.

cerakote is really thin isnt it? i know it really popular for painting guns.

my buddy is telling me it may be too cold out to paint my running boards with the bed liner, im inclined to believe him since he said bring it down to his paint booth....

so depending on the weather it may or may not happen next weekend. we are going to my cottage to go hunting but i think im the only 1 with a tag this year...so ya i dunno if we will even be hunting really.
