I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd with a 5.3 Engine, i noticed this morning it was leaking coolant but not really sure where to start looking?

Yep, freeze plugs on the block, or the heater hoses or connections - that stupid assed plastic retainer isn't one of GM's finer moments. Failure prone and a BITCH to get apart sometimes.

I had to scrape what was left of that crap plastic out of the heater hose end:

Save yourself the money, and just clamp the hose directly to the heater core. Why they even bother selling the replacement plastic crap connector baffles me ...
