bowtie_pasta Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 I purchased a new drop in K&N air filter off Ebay. It had a great price and the seller had plenty of good feedback so I snapped it up. It's been about a week, Paypal payment is complete. I've sent two emails to him and no response whatsoever. I see he must be around because he's left feedback for lots of folks just yesterday with whom he's done business. It just kinda bothers me. I feel at the very least he should let me know he's got my order and when it ships. Seller is high_performance_parts if any of you have delt with him. Seems to sell a lot of K&N stuff and engine/transmission parts. I don't see a single complaint in his 220+ rating. Everyone seems to have got their item no prob. At this point even if I do get my item I'm going to have to mention communication was a little slow even though I won't give a negative rating. I hate stuff like this!!
timk49 Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 I agree he should communicate right away but the wife has sold some things on ebay and a couple times it was the mail system that delayed the delivery. the post office must lose things once in a while. If any of you guys work for them don't go postal on me.
chevy4x4trucks Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 leave a negative feedback, he'll see that and get on it right away w/ some type of response. It's one way to do it
Elwood Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 The problem could be the mail. BUT he still should respond to you and let you know what's going on. I'm waiting on an album I got from a guy off Ebay. I won the Sunday before Memorial Day and it stillisn't here, however he has communicated with me wonderfully and told me to let him know this evening if it still wasn't here and we would work something out. There is no reason for him to not respond to you if you emailed him about it, unless he just for some reason didn't get it. I would try emailing him one more time, and tell him you've tried before and not heard form him and that if he doesn't reply to this one by _________ you're going to leave negative feedback and report it to PayPal.

bowtie_pasta Posted June 13, 2003 Author Posted June 13, 2003 Well, I actually contacted another Ebay member who completed an auction with him. He wrote back and said the seller is a good guy. Says he's a little slow with email, but he shipped his item 2 days after close of auction. Still have heard NOTHING from seller!
bowtie_pasta Posted June 14, 2003 Author Posted June 14, 2003 Ok, HE HAS EMAILED ME!!! Says he has had email problems since Wednesday. So I now have my tracking number and everything. Feel a lot better. Nothing like feeling like you're getting ripped. Guess maybe I jumped the gun, but he still could have sent me a note earlier right after the auction closed. Thanks for listenin' to me guys. Case closed.
Huntaholic Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 I trust feedback ratings as a rule. Ive made around 300 trades on ebay and all but one have ended well. I have had a few that were slow to respond though. Some people just dont take it as serious as they should. have had the one bad deal that I lost $50 on, na danother that I had to threaten with all possible action to wake him up. I contacted ebay after the contact phone# turned out to be bogus, and sent the seller an email telling him just what I was doing. That was a couple weeks after the auction closed. once he saw I was serious, I got the item and all was well. One thing I hate about ebay is sellers who dont leave feedback when they receive my money. WHen I win the auction and send my money, Ive took the chance, Ive put my good faith in the seller to be honest. The least the seller could do is leave me my feedback right then. However MOST wont leave it until you leave it for them and even then some never do. After I got my feedback ratings over 100 positives I quit leaving feedback at all unless they leave it for me first. Its a matter of principle, kinda like saying "you're welcome" after someone says "thank you" to you.
bowtie_pasta Posted June 14, 2003 Author Posted June 14, 2003 Agreed Huntaholic! Some people truly don't take it as seriously as they should. Communication is the key. Even if it's just two d**n words, let the other party know what's up.
