2016+ Security options

I was looking in the manual for my 2016 GMC Sierra Denali for info on shock sensor or tow sensor. It mentions very little about both items. I had a 2009 chevy silverado ltz before and i was able to add both GM OEM sensors and had the dealer program them to the truck.

This does not seem to be the case now, can anyone shine some light on this? any info on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If it makes him feel better then it is not worthless. No idea about the parts from me.

I can't specifically say if this is a no-go after the fact but over the years GM has made it harder to add features after the truck is built. They don't supply the dealers programming info in many cases to add features once built.

They are add on sensors for the factory gm theft system.

One was a tilt sensor, it would set off the factory alarm if a unauthorized tow is in progress

Then the shock sensor is pretty self explanatory. Same concept as the tilt accept if someone was to bang or jump on the bed it would set the factory alarm off.

Someone had stated that the these sensors in question could be disabled easy. Is there any info i could read on this?

Thanks
