Yes, but you can't buy it all separately...the kit comes with latch, fobs and programming code.  You're buying the code, no way around that not for a dealer or anyone.

Only reason I asked was to save me from the labor, so I guess it might take 30 mins-1 hour most for programming from the dealer. What do I say when I go to the dealer? I feel like they will BS me and say they need to do other stuff

Honestly they're gonna do what they want and probably be hard-headed if you dictate the process...probably call a couple and get a quote if you don't know any service advisors.

My local dealer insists on ordering the kit themselves. $400 for kit and install.

Way too much in my opinion

They are gonna get my $400. Remote start is the feature I miss the most from my last truck. Its hot 10 months out of the year down here. I used the feature every day and will be doing so again very soon.

Mine quoted $475 and said it would be an additional $200+ if it needed the latch.  I can buy the kit for $200, with the latch, need to call around and see if they'll agree to program without the install.

That is highway robbery, I know the kit is like $200 or $235 on the Chevy website. Damn dealerships are not fair

I finally got my factory remote start and keyless entry completed yesterday.  Had to travel about 30 miles away but the dealership was waiting for me and completed it while I waited.  Was in and out in less than 2 hours.  The total for everything was $441.  Which was much better than the $700+ my local dealership was wanting to charge.  Thanks for all of the input from everybody.  Really helped make this a smooth process.  As a bonus I found a really nice dealership that actually believes in helping the customer.

I Installed my hood latch (which is a 2 wire setup, my old latch was a 3 wire) and now I have a check engine light on with a DTC for "hood ajar sensor voltage high" which typically indicates an open circuit. Should I reinstall the original latch? My truck is a 2018. I     ot the remotes to work on the locks.

Do you have to replace the latch on a 18 2500HD? Chevy has the kit at $275.00, am wondering if it’s worth doing myself or having the dealer do it.

Have a couple questions.Already have the latch installed and harness all the way into the cab and zip tied to the wires on the black plug where the green wire plugs in.  Just need to plug it in.

How do you get the wire out that is already in the plug?  I have a few pin extractors but dont see how to get it out.  Never fooled with that kind of plug.

And my truck is very low and I am not able to get under the truck quickly.  Ramps are too high and havent jacked it up.  Is there another place to ground the harness?  Or can you see it from the top at all? I looked and looked and didnt see it.  Will be putting it on a buddies lift soon to do some other stuff and will get it then if I dont find anything else sooner.

I installed the kit myself and just need to program the fobs....the dealership wants $180 just to program the fobs....yikes!

I called a local locksmith and they want $75.....i'm assuming its the same thing? they said they can program the keyfobs, so I guess i'll give it a shot...??

***DISREGARD*** HAS TO BE DEALER DUE TO PROGRAMMING- thanks
