The seat on the MTD is some strange saftey seat thing that is pretty much essential to make the PTO work...if it can't feel your ass in the seat, the PTO is off. Anyway, I took it apart to get to some stuff easier, and now I can't get it back together. It has a spring and a bracket that I need to put back.

 

Anyone ever delt with one before? Can someone that has one of these take pics of the seat bracket (where it bolts to the tractor) on his/her riding tractor for me? Thanks for any help.

If you have the model and serial numbers handy, the online manual may help. If your mower is setup like mine, an open circuit (unplug wire from safety switch) will let the deck run while you are not sitting on it.

I believe my friend unplugged his wiring on his Honda to get that feature to take a hike.
