Tpms

Hi everybody, I tried researching this but I didn't have much luck.

If I go from a P metric tire to a light truck tire will this mess with the TPMS at all? Obviously the tire pressure will be more for LT tires. But how will this effect the tpms? Can a tire shop just reset it?

As long as the sensors are swapped over then no, the only issue you might is with what tire pressures you want to run. Stock is 35psi for front and rear unloaded, if you run too far under that it can trip the low tire warning for the TPMS system.

Actually my door tag calls for 32psi front and rear on a 2016 1500 Denali w/ Factory 20" Wrangler SRA's.

On the tire pressure thing a Hypertech 2.0 part 2000 hand held tuner allows you to reset the Tire pressure sensors/Tire size/control AFM to come on only at a set mph or tune it completely off /reset a lot of other parameters to suit your taste plus you can go back to factory tune anytime you like. Yes there is a slight risk of warranty issues if your dealer found out but just make sure and NEVER take it back to the dealer for service with the tune installed and test that issue. Old Proverb "Never ask a barber if you need a haircut" The hand held tuner was 314 bones and to me worth every single penny.............. some people may have a lower risk tolerance.
