I'm new to this site. I have a question and not sure where to post this ? I have a 2003 Yukon 5.3l NA. the trans is shot. the body is in super shape. I've gotten prices for replacing with a rebuilt trans, (don't want used) between 1900$ and 2500$. What I was thinking is getting a salvage Yukon between 2007 and 2010 with low miles and switch the body. It says my wheelbase is 116" and up to 2010 it's supposed to be the same. The non-repairable are pretty reasonable just have to pick a good one for my needs. I was wondering if the Sierra or Silverado pickup has the same platform ? the wheelbases seem to be 3" longer? I thought they used the same platform for both the Tahoe and Yukon along with the pickups. Thanks in advance for the help, and glad to have joined.

If all you need is the Tans? just get a TIP TOP Trans from a TIP TOP AUTO SALVAGE YARD. Out of the countless Trans I have put in and witnessed put in from Auto salvage shops NEVER HAD A PROBLEM!

I could only Guess 500-600.00 been awhile since I have been in a salvage yard? No body switching involved get you the Decent Trans with salvage guarantee and save yourself the Hassel.

Pull the 5.3 out and put in a 6.0 with the 4l80e stronger Transmission

I'm almost positive if you want to keep your motor you can put the 4l80e in it

The engine is good only 130K. I like the idea of the 4l80E, will that work without having to reprogram?
